Where the word of the king is there is power
Voltaire stated: "If a miracle occurred in the marketplace of Paris and in the presence of 2,000 men, I would rather disbelieve my own eyes than the 2,000."
The point is that facts alone will never bring a man to Christ. Saving faith is the work of the Holy Spirit from start to finish. "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44. "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." John 12:32. I guess for some seeing is not believing. Nevertheless here are some of the many advanced scientific revelations found in a King James Bible that would show authorship could only be of a divine nature.
"Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake." 2 Corinthians 4:1-5
If a miracle is something that cannot be accounted for by what we have seen and known, then the whole book of Genesis is a miracle. Enoch's translation, the Ark, the confusion of tongues, and other miracles prove this first book of the Bible to be of supernatural character. Here is the only authentic book of origins or beginnings in the world and science cannot account for its existence. It cannot be denied that Genesis contains records which, though they agree with the most advanced science of the age, were written thousands of years before modern science had opened its eyes.
Extremely astounding is the fact that the very first sentence of Genesis holds within its declaration the five basic elements of natural science: (God-Power), (Beginning-Time), (Heaven- Space), (Earth-Matter), (Created-Force). Set aside once and for all in the insufficiency of our human existence, the word of God boldly declares its divine origin and its natural superiority over all other religious literature by incorporating in its writings many advanced revelations of natural science.
There are no errors in the Bible, whether scientific or otherwise. On the contrary, there are many remarkable anticipations of scientific discovery, namely the facts that the atmosphere has weight; that the blood circulates; that minute dust particles give the sky its hue; that animals breed true; that man cannot govern himself without God; that science alone cannot find out God.
To quote Lt. Col. Merson Davies, (supported byThe Bible, and Modern Science:) "The Bible waits at the head of the paths of scientific progress to greet the discoverer with its revelation of prior knowledge. The investigator climbs upward through the twilight and finds Scripture illuminating the summit of his climb."
The Bible is not, and was never meant to be, a scientific book yet many of its statements invade the realm of science simply because it is the divine revelation from Him, of whom we have to do, the Author of Creation [Elohim] The Lord who creates. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge." Ps 19: 1-2
Let us begin with a simple illustration describing the correspondence between the order of items in the Genesis story of Creation and the latest findings of science. The order which geology claims as correct for development of this earth is exactly the order of Moses. (1) Chaos, (2) Light, (3) Firmament, or expanse, (4) Dry Land, (5) Vegetation, (6) Life in water, in air, on land (7) Man. Here then is an agreement of science with scripture, but how much better is the testimony of God's holy word with its infallible declarations of scripture set against the past errors of week and fallible science.
Here in God's holy word we find some of the most astounding revelation of our earth and solar system. Where we cannot prove beyond any shadow of doubt to many ignorant and irreverent skeptics, that the bible is, as it claims to be, the word of God. We can offer men of true intelligence a presentation of facts that contains very heavy and weighty arguments of divine authorship. The evidence we are about to consider should allow any truth searching soul to seriously consider the Bible to be nothing less than a supernatural revelation proving intelligence far in advance and superior to that of mortal man. All true Bible based Christians hold the AV 1611 [King James Bible]. in the proper context, as it is in truth, the very word of the Living God. I truly hope that these obvious scientific facts in God's Holy Word will give you confidence to live boldly for Jesus Christ.
Being the leader in Archaeoastronomy and Ethnoastronomy, the word of God proceeds Copernicus, Ptolemy, Aristotle, and Columbus declaring once and for all time that the earth is circular. "Hast thou perceived the breath of the earth? Declare if thou knows it all." Job 38:18. The book of Isaiah which has a date of about 750 B.C. for its authorship also declares the earth to be circular. "it is he that sitters upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers: that stretchers out the heaven as a curtain and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in." Isaiah 40:22
A very pertinent fact of history that our reader should know is that both science and religions have in the past aligned themselves in ignorance agains God's word with such depraved superstitions as the belief in a flat earth, spontaneous regeneration, evolution, and a host of deficient theories. The historical evidence also reveals that both science and religion have malignantly attempted to shift the blame for their past ignorance to the Bible and Bible believing Christians. Obviously this can not be true in any sense because it is obvious that the Scriptures have continually revealed a circular earth for over four thousand years.
Again let us remind our reader this could have never been done in any court of Justice, for the word of God answers this malicious libel with the most astounding revelation possible. In the four thousand year old book of Job we find these words: "He strecheth out the north over the empty place, and HANGETH THE EARTH UPON NOTHING" Job 26:7
Our earth then is circular and suspended in the universe on nothing as the word of God has maintained from the earliest beginnings of human existence. Contrary to this, science has held many demented and twisted schemes to explain our existence. Some major religions teach preposterous fables to their ignorant followers.
Religions have for centuries darkened the world of knowledge in which we live and science has often perverted the knowledge that we have acquired. In the faithfulness of God's word we find complete assurance of the truth.
"He sealed up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work" Job 37:7 So we know that God has given every man his own finger and palm prints. Then forensic science is not a discovery of the twentieth century but a revelation of divine knowledge from two thousand B.C.
Our atmosphere has weight according to the Bible. "To make the weight for the winds; and he weighted the waters by measure." Job 28:25. but the barometer was not invented until 1643 A.D. by Torricelli. I guess those who credit themselves as scientist were just not as intelligent as Job or held the interested in hearth sciences as God did.
Light is and can be parted and it is solar power that causes the winds and hydrological cycle. "Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. For he maketh small the drops of water they pour down rain according to the vapor thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distilled upon man abundantly. Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?" Job 36:26-29
Hydrologic Sciences are those fields of study that deal with the occurrence, physical and chemical properties, circulation, and distribution of the waters of the earth and their interaction with other parts of the environment. Let us consider how the Author of Scripture understood that rain was a process of distillation? This field of science was relatively new to the twentieth Century scientist. Yet, as we shall see the Bible preacher once again posses the divine revelation of God's word. "The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteneth to his place where he arose. the wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually and the wind returners again according to his circuits. All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again." Ecclesiastes 1: 5-7
the bible also reveals in advance of its discovery the potential of electricity. "Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?" Job 38:35 It would seem that the logical thing for the reader of this article to do in light of the facts of the advanced revelations of science like hydrological cycles, spectrums, finger prints, atmospheric weight and the advanced knowledge of the potential of electricity, in telegraph, radio, and TV, is to consider reverently that perhaps science and religion may be found hostile to God's word because it shows each to be inferior.
If George Washington had believed his Bible instead of the advanced scientific knowledge of his doctors that applied the most advanced practices of medicine and bled him to death, he may have extended his life for a much longer period. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls..." Lev. 17:11a
I hope that our reader can now see that God's word is miraculous and astounding and would begin to study its rich and abundant treasures. A life guided by this divine gift of God will find the joy, peace, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment that is eluding so many today. After all, Jesus came into this world to bring eternal Salvation. "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." John 11:25. Internal joy, "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." John 15:11. Infallible truth, "jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 Incomprehensible peace, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
Let us conclude at the beginning of God's word, "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth. And it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit whose see was in itself, after his kind: And God saw it was good." Gen 1:11-12
What better way to end this article but with the beginning for here the Word of God makes a definitive statement that has remained irrefutable from the beginning of creation and was to be conclusively proven as the foundation to the Laws of Biogenesis by Gregor Mendel 1822-1884. All species as taught in the Word of God reproduce after their own kind!
So then, is the divine prerogative, Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3 Since every living creature reproduces after its own kind, our physical birth can only give life to our present reality of this world.
A second, spiritual birth is required to enter the Kingdom of God and become his children, for we are only children of Adam by natural birth! This spiritual birth comes to us through God's infallible word testifying of his son's atoning death for us. "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." 1 Peter 1:23. "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures." 1 Cor. 15:3
